Search of AfD Staffer’s Home (Berlin, September 2026)

On 15 September 2026, Berlin prosecutors and police searched the Lichterfelde home of a 48-year-old employee of Kristin Brinker, the Berlin AfD’s lead candidate for the state election, on suspicion of offences under Germany’s weapons and explosives laws. The employee works in Brinker’s constituency office in Reinickendorf.

No weapons or explosives were found. Investigators seized other items, including drugs and Nazi-era memorabilia, which were undergoing forensic examination to determine their criminal relevance. The case is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
